Our tour of the Shell Key Preserve is approximately 2.5 hours and a great way to explore the mangrove islands and shallow seagrass meadows which are an integral part of our coastal ecosystem. We plan our routes based on daily tidal and weather conditions, but will spend our time paddling through the preserve and visiting the barrier island of Shell Key. This will give you the opportunity to take a break, stretch your legs, or go for a swim while on the island. There is a variety of local wildlife that visits the preserve throughout the year including osprey, nesting sea turtles, dolphins, manatees, and a variety of local shorebirds. Several mangrove tunnels are also accessible throughout the area when tides permit. Kayaking is a great way to explore the inner workings of the preserve and we look forward to showing you one of our favorite local spots to paddle!
Cost is $38pp (plus tax)
